Continuing its crackdown on unauthorized urbanization, the Town and Country Planning Department carried out a demolition drive on Friday, razing an illegal colony being developed in Mauja Nathuvas. The operation targeted a colony spread over nearly three acres, located strategically between the Bhiwani-Meham road and the Palwas road, near Carrier Planet School.
District Town Planner (DTP) Narender Nain, who led the operation, stated that the colony was being carved out without the mandatory Change of Land Use (CLU) permission or a valid license from the government. The enforcement team, accompanied by a strong police contingent and the appointed Duty Magistrate, Executive Engineer Dayanand Rohilla, used earthmovers to dismantle the unauthorized infrastructure.
During the drive, officials demolished 18 damp-proof courses (DPCs), two concrete structures, two boundary walls, and a network of kaccha roads and site demarcations laid out by the colonizers. “The land mafia often misleads the public by selling plots in such unapproved colonies. We have dismantled the basic infrastructure to prevent further construction,” Nain said.
The DTP also issued a warning to the public, urging them not to invest in illegal colonies or undertake construction on government land, green belts, or controlled areas. He confirmed that the department is currently compiling a list of other illegal constructions in the district and that the demolition campaign will continue in the coming days.
