In a major boost to the historic “City of Weavers,” Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced the establishment of an international-level textile institute in Panipat. The announcement was made during a pre-budget consultation meeting with industry representatives from Panipat, Sonepat, and Karnal.

Land Allocation: The state government will provide 10 acres of land for the new institute.

Objective: The facility aims to provide technical expertise aligned with international standards to the local workforce. It addresses a long-standing demand from industry organizations to modernize the region’s manufacturing capabilities.

Vision: Saini emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Five-F” vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign—stating that the new institute will help realize this for Haryana.
Policy Relief for Industry During the same event, the CM announced significant policy extensions:

Policy Extension: The validity of the Haryana AatmaNirbhar Textile Policy has been extended by one year, now valid until December 18, 2026.

Impact: Under this policy, the state has already received 354 applications and approved grants worth ₹367 crore.

Subsidy Rules: The CM declared that under the capital investment subsidy scheme, there will now be no cap on the number of cases, ensuring all eligible entrepreneurs receive support.
Future Goals The Chief Minister highlighted the global shift towards chemical-free and naturally dyed textiles, urging Panipat’s industries to become global leaders in this niche. He also noted that Panipat, along with Gurugram and Faridabad, is pivotal in making Haryana a global export hub.
