Haryana Launches AI Mission With ₹474 Crore World Bank Support

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced the launch of the Haryana AI Mission, a major initiative backed by the World Bank to position the state as a global hub for innovation and technology. The announcement was made during a pre-budget consultation with startup founders and entrepreneurs in Manesar.

Mission Details

  • Funding: The World Bank has assured assistance of ₹474 crore for the mission.

  • Infrastructure: Dedicated AI Hubs will be established in Gurugram and Panchkula.

  • Skill Development: The mission targets training 50,000 youth in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.

Startup Ecosystem Boost In addition to the AI Mission, the CM unveiled several incentives to strengthen the startup landscape:

  • Fund of Funds: A ₹2,000 crore fund has been created to provide capital access to startups.

  • Research Fund: A Haryana State Research Fund with an initial corpus of ₹20 crore was announced to promote research in universities.

  • Financial Aid: Startups will receive financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each through HSIIDC. Recently, ₹1.14 crore was disbursed to 22 startups.

  • Incubation Centres: Affordable workspaces/incubation centres will be set up in all HSIIDC industrial estates.

Decentralizing Innovation To take entrepreneurship beyond big cities, the CM announced that entrepreneurship competitions will be held in every district starting from the 2025-26 academic session. Winning teams will receive ₹1 lakh to convert their ideas into business models.
