MOHALI – A shocking incident of firing was reported in Mohali in the early hours of Friday, where two bike-borne miscreants opened fire on a house in Phase-7, causing extensive property damage and alarming local residents.
The assailants fired approximately 35 rounds at the house, damaging three cars parked outside, in an area located conspicuously behind the Phase-7 police station and NRI police station.
Complainant Maninder Singh, a retired government employee and the house owner, informed the police about the attack. CCTV footage reviewed by the police shows two youths on a bike stopping outside the residence and firing continuously for close to 40 seconds before fleeing the spot.
Maninder Singh stated he was unaware of any motive or enemy that could lead to such a targeted attack. “I have no known enemies nor do I suspect anyone,” he told the police.
Following the report, a heavy police force, including senior officials, reached the spot and cordoned off the area to begin an investigation. Authorities confirmed that, despite the aggressive nature of the attack, no threat or ransom call has been received so far. The police are currently gathering forensic evidence and reviewing surveillance footage to identify the culprits and determine the motive behind the brazen shooting.
