A joint team of agricultural scientists conducted a comprehensive survey of wheat crops in several villages of Yamunanagar district on Tuesday to assess the presence of yellow rust and other pests. The survey was prompted by current weather conditions, which experts described as favorable for the spread of the fungal disease.
The Survey Team The inspection was carried out by officials from three major bodies:

Key Officials: The team included Dr. Laxmi Kant, Dr. KP Sharma, Dr. P Lal Kashyap (Senior Scientist), and Dr. Satish Kumar. The operation was guided by Dr. Sunita Pandey, Joint Director (Entomology) at the Directorate of Plant Protection, Faridabad.
Findings & Advisory

Result: The team confirmed that no incidence of yellow rust or major pest infestation was detected in the surveyed villages so far.

Advisory: Despite the clean chit, Assistant Plant Protection Officer Dr. Satish Kumar advised farmers to remain alert due to the supportive weather for the disease.

Action if Found: Farmers were instructed to immediately uproot and bury any plants showing symptoms (yellow powder on leaves) to prevent spread.

Treatment: In case of severe infestation, they were advised to use fungicides approved by the Central Insecticide Registration Board.
